Difficulty of assimilation ?

What is it that explains that silicon is not very widely used in treatment and its relative success?

Teaching in Faculties of  Medicine, Pharmacy or of Biological Science covers more or less related topics (silicosis, collagenosis, asbestosis, silicone gel in beauty care, colloidal silicon as an excipient, as a solid support for chromatography, ..), but almost nothing on biological silicon itself. Public research into the subject was neglected for a long time.

The major role of silicon was only very recently understood:

  1. The amount of silicon in the organism decreases inexorably with age.
  2. Naturally available silicon is present primarily in non assimilable form.
  3. Moreover, our modern diet being too refined, the contribution of natural silicon provided by  our food  is further decreased.
  4. Until now, the forms in which silicon was proposed in therapy were not very easily assimilated.
  5. It was demonstrated by Dr JANET that the assimilation of Silicon is related to its solubility.

Now it is possible to make silicon very easily assimilated.
